And just like that… 2024 is here!
‘Skyvibe’ Astrology Forecast for January 2024

And just like that… 2024 is here!
2023 was a massive year that was full of challenges and took a lot of people to their edges.
December itself was enough for all of us to deserve an award for the perseverance and patience needed with Mercury Retrograde not only bestowing it’s normal tomfoolery upon us, yet also stalling our New Moon wishes by heading into the RX phase the day prior. Neptune was squaring the New Moon which means that clarity around our wishes and powers of manifestation were murky and damp.
As we cross the threshold into 2024, everything speeds up, and what was put on hold or unable to get off the ground, starts to gain momentum.
Jupiter stations direct on January the 1st (here in the southern hemisphere), followed by Mercury on the 3rd.
Even though it will take a while for these planets to clear the shadow phase of the retrograde cycle, we should start to feel a shift in energy and the doorways of opportunity beginning to open up.
During the first week of January we may start to sense some of the seeds that we planted during the Sagittarius New Moon on the 12th/13th December start to take form.
We may also begin to understand why certain events occurred around that time and how it fits into the bigger picture of our learning.
Another beneficial aspect during the first week of January is Mars moving into Capricorn on the 5th, joining the Sun and Pluto in the same sign. On the 11th and 15th consecutively, the New Moon and Mercury join the above planets in Capricorn for a powerful stellium.
Having so many planets and luminaries in the same sign emphasises the intensity of the traits that the sign influences us with.
In Capricorn, our focus is determined and fixed upon achieving our goals. We become less likely to give up when things become tough, and we find ways to work through resistance and setbacks.
Mars in Capricorn will bestow us with the ability to work hard and understand that the efforts that we are making now will have long lasting effects.
Mars in Capricorn can be strategic and ambitious and will support us in harnessing the patience that we need to see our projects through to fruition.
Pluto is at 29 degrees throughout January until it moves into Aquarius on January the 21st.
Anything at 29 degrees in astrology is known as an anaretic degree or the degree of karma or fate.
The general consensus with this degree is that something is coming to an end or there is an urgency or pressure to complete an important phase in your life. If you look back to when Pluto first entered Capricorn (January 2008), it may give you some insight into the themes that are coming to a close now.
As Pluto is the planet in question here, there is an indication that there will be a strong urge to transform something now.
It will be interesting to see what shifts collectively and personally as Pluto prepares to ingress into Aquarius.
The first New Moon of the year takes place @ 21 degrees of Capricorn on January 11th.
This is a particularly powerful New Moon as not only does it have the influence of the stellium that I mentioned above, but it is also forming a wide conjunction to Pluto-which is at the anaretic degree of 29.
The question to ask yourself is what you would like to bring into manifestation in the physical world. Capricorn is serious and committed and will urge you to ponder upon the things that will give you structure now and into the future.
Even though Capricorn traditionally rules the 10th house of career and public persona in the natural chart; Capricorn will be in different houses in our personal charts depending on what sign our ascendant is in.
If you have Libra rising for example, Capricorn will rule your 4th house of family and home. If you have Cancer rising, Capricorn will rule the 7th house of your chart-which relates to relationships and partnerships.
Capricorn encourages us to make long term plans. We can start this process by feeling into what we would like to call into being over the next 12 months. Once we have visualised that, we can start moving the circle outwards to encompass a 2, 3, or even 5 year plan.
If we want to build long lasting foundations in our worlds, we need to be disciplined and commit to working hard and moving towards our goals-even when obstacles appear.
This is the perfect time to write down your hopes, dreams and ambitions, and then put practical steps into place to bring them to fruition.
Get clear about your direction and where it is that you want to go.
Then ask the transformative energies of Pluto to cut away any baggage, old stories and old parts of your identity that no longer align with who you are now.
We can’t move into new energies if we are hanging onto old versions of ourselves and others.
Mercury comes back into Capricorn the 15th of January and will clear the shadow phase of the retrograde cycle by the 22nd of January.
Ideas that couldn’t get off the ground or situations that presented obstacles or delays, should start to dissipate and gain momentum now.
You will have more clarity around why things were held up and will be able to move forward with a newfound sense of wisdom.
Mercury in Capricorn will help us formulate thoughts and ideas that will support the longevity of our goals and ambitions.
Pluto moves into Aquarius on the 21st of January for approximately 7 months before taking a trip back into Capricorn in September, October and November.
Pluto was last in Aquarius from March-June 2023.
Pluto in Aquarius will bring great changes on both a personal and collective level.
I remember writing about the timing of Pluto in Aquarius last year corresponding with the end of the lockdowns and mandates here in Australia. It was almost as if this three month jaunt was giving us a preview of what’s to come when Pluto makes the ingress into Aquarius for a longer period of time.
The focus will move away from the “powers that be” and more towards our future and what needs to change so that we are free to live life in a way that aligns with who we are as individuals and collectively.
With Pluto in Aquarius there is a sense that we will begin to deeply embrace our eccentricities and the traits and quirks that make us the unique individuals that we are.
There is also the strong possibility that we will start to be more understanding of those who are completely different to us.
The Sun’s move into Aquarius on the same day will give us a glimpse into how Pluto’s journey in Aquarius will unfold.
The 21st and the few days after are very powerful days.
We may feel an intense push to completely change our path or some part of our identity. Drive, ambition and power may also be themes that dominate the dates mentioned above.
Venus moves into Capricorn on the 24th of January-bring a serious tone to our relationships. We may find that we are craving commitment or connections that can stand the test of time.
Physical or material displays of affection are appreciated with this placement.
The relationship theme continues the following day (or the 26th in the southern hemisphere), will the Full Moon rising at 5 degrees of Leo.
Generally I would say that this may be a Moon that inspires us to be more romantic and creative, yet due to the opposition from Pluto, there is a sense that intense and complex emotions may be more of a possibility.
My feeling is that pride is somehow involved during this FM phase. Whether something that we don’t like is brought to our attention, or someone takes us down a peg or two by telling us how they really feel.
As always, triggers from the external world give us the opportunity to identify what still lives inside of us. What hot buttons are being pressed and what parts of ourselves still need to be tended to.
There is an opportunity for deep healing during this phase-one that more than likely will require us to embrace our inner child and any wounds still lingering from our younger years.
My suggestion is to turn towards creative and playful pursuits that can help you soothe and express whatever it is that you have coming up. Roar if you must yet try not to project it onto others.
And last, but by no means least, Uranus stations direct on the 28th of January after almost 5 months in retrograde motion.
Guess what this signals?!
The end of all retrograde planets until the beginning of April. Woohoo!!
We can make so much progress now!
Talk about taking off quickly after the stall that was December.
Hang onto your hats… as the cosmic rollercoaster is about to hit full speed!
Bright blessings,
Krishna
