Total Eclipse of the Heart
‘Skyvibe’ Astrology Forecast for October 2024
By Krishna Dodds.
Welcome to October!
We are now officially in the last quarter of the year. The countdown to Christmas-if you celebrate-and the end of another huge 12 months.
October starts with a high vibe Solar Eclipse on the 2nd/3rd -depending on your location in the world.
This eclipse is @ 10 degrees of Libra and will bring our focus to our relationships and partnerships.
The eclipse gives a boost to the New Moon energy, so we may have a better chance of calling into being what we put our focus on.
Libra brings our attention to the “other”, and with that we may be drawn to partner up with someone if we are single, recommit to an already existing relationship, look at ways of resolving conflict, and find ways to see another’s point of view while holding true to our own values.
The eclipse is forming a conjunction to Mercury and will support us in communicating with more ease and coming to a place of negotiation-if it’s required.
Venus ruled Libra is well known for their desire for peace and harmony. And while there is nothing wrong with holding this as a value, it can also mean that the Self is compromised in favour of making things right for others.
If you can identify that you’re running this pattern, it could be time to challenge yourself to have difficult conversations while holding the intention of love and resolution.
Lay your cards and your heart on the table with diplomacy and see what unfolds.
If you look back to October last year, you may get an idea of the themes that are still present now.
This is the last eclipse of the year and the last eclipse in the Libra/Aries axis.
Make it count!
Jupiter begins its retrograde period on the 10th of October and will continue through until the 5th of February.
Jupiter is the planet of expansion and growth. In the sign of Gemini, we may find ourselves madly rushing around to obtain new information and knowledge.
When Jupiter is in retrograde phase, our attention turns within.
Things that once held worth on an external level may start to lose their shine, and opportunities and pathways that aren’t supporting our highest self may fall by the wayside-or at least be put on hold.
The Jupiter retrograde period can connect us to our inner wisdom. This is where we are prompted to trust our internal compass because the markers in the outside world no longer make sense.
In a previous article I spoke about the Saturn/Jupiter square period that’s prominent over the next 8-9 months, and how it will influence the decisions we make.
I specifically mentioned that instead of collecting modalities and knowledge (that we may only scratch the surface of), we were being guided to explore more deeply the concepts and teachings that align with us.
While the next square of Saturn and Jupiter doesn’t take place until December the 25th, the retrograde period of Jupiter will give us a prelude to what’s important on a soul level, and the paths that we need to traverse to arrive there.
This is a great time to work on things that you have already started, and to reflect upon where you have been and where you want to go.
Pluto ends the retrograde period on the 12th of October after a whopping 5 months in seemingly backwards motion.
Pluto will station direct for 4 days before starting to progress through the last degrees of Capricorn, before moving into Aquarius.
This is the last time that Pluto will be at this degree of Capricorn for at least another 230 years.
Now, without knowing the personal details of your charts, I’m going to stick to the traditional Capricorn traits when explaining what this time may look like for you.
Pluto has been at 29 degrees for most of September and will be for October and up until the 20th of November.
29 degrees is known as an anaretic degree in astrology, and often denotes a crisis or an urgency in getting something done or finalised.
In Saturn ruled Capricorn, we look at long term plans and goals, and what we are building for the future.
Do you need to make any adjustments in the area of career and life purpose?
This is the time to think about making any changes required. Pluto is transformative, and even though it can seem harsh when it steamrolls through our lives, its goal is to bring us in alignment with what we truly want on a soul level.
If you can’t identify what this is, tune into the deepest longings that you have.
You may hold a secret desire to create art or to become an intuitive reader or healer…etc
Quite often it can be something that comes naturally to us that we’ve never considered utilising outside of a hobby.
Regardless of what this is for you, know that Pluto in Capricorn is calling on us to take action.
It may be a small adjustment that’s required, or a huge one. This will be dependent upon whether you’ve been fully embracing who you are over the past few years or living a smaller, closed off version of yourself.
The Plutonic theme continues when Mercury moves into Scorpio on the 14th, followed by the Sun on the 23rd.
Scorpio gives us the ability to get in touch with the deeper aspects of Self. There is an investigative quality to Scorpio that can send us on a never ending quest to find out what makes us and the world around us tick.
There is a serious tone to any Scorpio placement, and a desire to connect deeply and intensely.
All of the above can support us in discovering the deep longings that I mentioned earlier when talking about Pluto at the final degrees of Capricorn.
The Sun can put us in touch with what we are yearning for on an inner level, while Mercury can make sense of it through the formation of thoughts and words.
This can be an incredibly introspective time that allows us to connect with our intuition and tap into our passionate nature.
The Full Moon rises @ 24 degrees of Aries on the 17th of October.
This is a powerful FM in an already powerful month!
The fire element of the FM gifts us with the ability to burn away the old so that the new may grow.
The FM energy is often about something coming to a point of culmination or a natural ending, while Aries represents a fresh slate and the opportunity to embark on new adventures.
Aries is rash and often impulsive, so emotions may be running high around this time.
With the promise of what’s to come calling us, we may be tempted to throw out the baby with the bathwater, so to speak.
As enticing as it may be to overthrow everything and start again-especially if there have been restrictions-it’s not always the answer.
Grounding our energy by standing barefoot on the earth will support us in cooling the headstrong and feisty traits of Aries. As will pausing and taking a few deep breaths.
We are allowed to initiate change. We just don’t need to throw a tantrum to bring it about.
Use the energy of Aries to motivate and encourage you to take the action you require.
The move of Venus into Sagittarius on the 18th of October, indicates that some space will serve us well.
With this placement we may feel inspired to embark on some kind of journey that can help us shake off the heaviness of the month and put us back in touch with our sense of adventure and fun.
Life wasn’t meant to be super serious!
A break from our everyday world may be just what we need to gain a new perspective on everything that’s come to pass and give us more of an idea of where we are aiming our proverbial arrows.
What a dynamic month October will be!
I felt the rush of energy moving through me as I typed these words.
It feels like a huge shedding is taking place in preparation for new beginnings.
Get excited about where you are heading and give thanks to where you have been-for each experience has been a stepping stone for where you find yourself now.
As always, my intention is that you move through these times with ease and grace and love and kindness.
Cosmic Blessings,
Krishna
