Shine Like the Sun!

‘Skyvibe’ Astrology Forecast for February 2023

By Krishna Dodds.

If you didn’t feel the “new me, new year vibes” during January, it was most likely due to the retrograde phases of Mercury, Mars, and Uranus.

I am not one who believes that we need to wait until a new linear year turns over before we can start moving towards our dreams, a goal, or a fresh beginning.

Yet I do believe that the planets have an impact on whether these events flow freely or are held up in some way.

Every breath and every moment is a chance to start anew; and now that all the planets are in direct motion, February gives us the green light to move forward with our plans, ideas, and growth work.

If change is what you are looking for, the influence of forward thinking Aquarius, can definitely support you in calling it in.
February starts with a Full Moon rising at 16 degrees of Leo on the 5th in the northern hemisphere and the 6th in the southern hemisphere.

Leo is a BIG energy-one that commands attention regardless of whether it consciously wants to or not.

So regardless of what you have occurring in your personal world, just know that there may be some big insights and “aha moments” coming your way when the Moon reaches her peak…. especially as Venus and Mars will be forming a square on the exact same day.

As Mumma Moon illuminates the night sky in all of her glory, we too are encouraged to shine the light of our true selves, and to identify deeply held values that can help us connect to what we really want from life and love.

We may also become aware of where our actions (Mars) are not in alignment with our desires (Venus).

Just to add a little more zest to this cosmic cocktail, we also have Uranus forming an almost exact square to the Full Moon.

Uranus is now in direct motion-and coupled with the Moon, can bring a somewhat restless feeling to our emotional landscape, and changes on the home front.

There may be many highs and lows and a tendency to want to blurt out how we are feeling-especially if you’re a person who suppresses your emotions.

While this may feel upsetting as it’s occurring, it does give us the opportunity to “free up” anything that we have been holding onto for too long and move forward unencumbered by emotional debris.

Challenging aspects aside, the Leo Full Moon can give us the courage to start pursuing our dreams and tap into our creativity and childlike joy.

Remember when you were a kid, and you did things for fun instead of putting pressure on yourself or comparing your work to others?

Now is the time to tap back into that pure and uncensored energy, and to boldly share your talents with others.

This can be a time of increased self-worth, as we are urged to value ourselves and our abilities and the unique way within which we contribute to the world.
Leo reminds us that when we come from our heart space, anything is possible… especially when Mercury makes its way into Aquarius on February 12th.

The shift from Capricorn to Aquarius will support us in letting go of restrictive and possibly outdated paradigms of thinking and open up to new and innovative ways of receiving information and sharing it with others.

Ideas can come in thick and fast, and we may find that thoughts start to take form quite quickly-especially with Mars in Gemini forming a supportive sextile to the Full Moon and a trine to Mercury around the 23rd/24th of the month.

Pay attention to creative urges and original concepts that keep popping up.

They could be potential signposts leading you to your next big project or a meeting with someone who helps to expand your view of life and all of the possibilities contained within that.

The Sun moves into Pisces on February 19th and is followed by the New Moon on February 20th.

(The New Moon in Pisces is “perigee”, which means that it’s the point of the orbit closest to the Earth. In recent years, the term “Supermoon” has become a popular way of describing this. The Supermoon can make the Moon appear brighter and closer than normal.)

Here we move from the very intellectual head space of Aquarius, into a more altered state of being.

Pisces is ruled by the planet Neptune, and can bestow upon us, increased intuition, a dream like perspective of the world, and a dissociation from our physical selves in favour of connecting to whatever it is that we deem spiritual.

The creativity and passion of the Full Moon in Leo can be expanded upon during this phase; yet we need to make sure that we maintain our focus and not become distracted or taken off course. This is no easy feat when Pisces is influencing our direction.

To get the best from the Pisces phase, it’s important that we ground our energy into our physical bodies.

This can be as simple as putting your bare feet on the grass for approximately five minutes and allowing yourself to sink into the earth or placing an ice cube on the soles of your feet. This brings the energy from the head all the way down to our feet and reminds us to “be in our body”, so to speak.

While it is tempting to pursue forms of escapism while Pisces is prominent, we need our physical body as the vehicle to turn daydreams and imagination into reality.

As always, balance is the key.

Pisces rules the 12th house and the subconscious mind, so we may find that we have old wounds, fears, and feelings showing up to be healed.

Pay attention to the symbolism in your dreams and the felt senses that occur in your gut.

Our intuition never lies-it’s generally our mind that comes into second guess what we know to be real on an intuitive level.
If you are one to set intentions on the New Moon, you may like to let go of all that has come before you and focus on healing hurtful emotions that may be holding you back or keeping you stuck in a cycle of pain.

Pisces is the last sign in the Zodiac. It signals that it’s time to release what is no longer in alignment with our soul, so that we can make room for the new beginnings and directions that the New Moon in Aries will present to us in a month’s time.

Venus rocks into Aries on the 21st of February, bringing assertiveness, directness, and tendency to “tell it like it is”!

This is the placement of the independent lover – the one who wants what they want and will go after it voraciously.

Venus in Aries is highly motivated and will take the dreams and fantasies that were abound when Venus was in Pisces and put them into action.

We may feel driven to increase our earning capacity throughout this almost four week phase and will look for ways to make this happen. If you have a side hustle, now is the time to think about bringing it front and centre.

If you have been feeling run down, Venus in Aries may give you a boost of much needed energy.

Nothing like the element of fire to end the month with.

Not only can it uplift our mood and increase motivation, it can also give us a hint of what is to come when Aries dominates the second half of March.

I’m holding the intention that your February is as fabulous and unique as you are.

May you journey well and shine like the Sun!

Celestial blessings,
Krishna
