‘Skyvibe’ Astrology Forecast for December 2024

December packs a powerful punch, with the last month of 2024 coming to a close dominated by the element of fire.
Fire can help us to burn away what no longer serves us and reignite our passions to the things that do.
The 1st of December welcomes a New Moon @ 9 degrees of Sagittarius and the promise of adventures that may come if we give ourselves the freedom to explore them.
While this can often be physical in nature, Jupiter ruled Saggy can also inspire us to blaze new paths via the realm of higher learning and opening our mind to new philosophies and teachings.
As Mercury is currently in retrograde motion in Sagittarius, we may find that our plans are put on hold or don’t start to start sprout seeds of new beginnings until Mercury turns direct and clears the shadow of the retrograde phase on the 16th of December and the 3rd of January respectively.
The New Moon taking place within in the Mercury retrograde cycle can indicate that we are being given the opportunity for a do-over (a chance to revisit a person, place or situation to see if it’s still an energy match), or space to bide time before we make forward planning decisions.
A lot can change within a month; so use December to reflect upon where you’d like to aim your proverbial arrows, and what you’re hoping to bring to fruition.
Regardless of your varied personal situations, the energy of the Archer should help you to feel optimistic and hopeful regarding what is yet to come.
There is a “lucky” feel to this New Moon…so go big with your intentions!
Mars begins its retrograde phase from December 7th through to February the 25th.
Mars represents our direction, our vitality and our determination, so we may find that these drop a few levels while Mars is in retrograde motion.
On top of that, Mars is in Leo, so themes around romance and matters of the heart will more than likely come under the spotlight during this time.
Any retrograde period is extending the invitation to go within and attend to matters that usually get pushed aside or not given the attention they need.
As Venus moves into the opposite sign of Aquarius the following day; there’s a sense that external relationships are being called into the spotlight to be examined, and/or our inner masculine and feminine need to be brought into balance.
The Mars retrograde period can also help us see where we are holding onto anger or rage. With our usual outlets of expression not available to us due to a drop in physical energy levels and motivation, we may feel disempowered on some level.
The Mars retrograde invites us to go within and explore the root of our anger and find safe ways to express it.
This is not a time to ignore our feelings and attempt to push them down even further-especially as Pluto is forming a wide opposition to Mars.
Anything that is not given the space to be expressed may come exploding to the surface like a volcano-taking out everything in its path.
Deal with your emotions, triggers and wounds before it gets to this point.
And burn away anything in your world that is stopping you from connecting to your inner power.
Friendships and groups become the focus of our attention when Venus makes her way into Aquarius on the 8th of December.
Venus in the sign of the water bearer loves the unique and eccentric souls of the world and will often have an eclectic social circle.
On a personal level, we may start to accept our own quirks and idiosyncrasies with much more compassion as Venus travels through the constellation of Aquarius.
The effect of loving ourselves warts and all can rub off onto those around us and effect positive change within the collective.
So, be the change that you wish to see in the world.
Aquarius is not generally known as an emotionally expressive sign, yet when it meets up with Pluto (newly in Aquarius), we may find that the parts of ourselves that are aloof or standoffish become more willing to connect more deeply and become aware of strong feelings.
We may also find that there are certain people that we feel a powerful connection to. These connections can often bring intense transformations regardless of their nature or status.
So, be open to seeing what unfolds.
On the 8th of December, Neptune stations direct, bringing an end to a five month retrograde period.
Once Neptune starts to move forward and clear the shadow of the retrograde phase (March 29th, 2025), we should start to feel the pieces of the puzzle coming together and clarity around anything that has been eluding us since early July 2024.
We may feel our compassion start to return and our connection to the spirit world and our soul.
There’s also a sense that disillusionment will make way for hope and the reconnection to a sense of purpose.
On the 15th of December, the final Full Moon of the year rises @ 23 degrees of Gemini and strongly indicates that communication (or lack thereof), will be illuminated and the source of possible drama-especially as Mercury (the ruler of Gemini), turns direct the following day.
There’s a sense that a cauldron of thoughts and ideas will be mulling around at this time, and it will be hard to make sense of what’s real and what isn’t.
My suggestion at this time is to turn within and listen to your heart and the wisdom of your inner guidance.
Trying to make sense of the monkey mind when its at full speed, is like a puppy chasing its tail round and round in circles. Dizziness will ensue.
Communication is important. Equally as important is deep listening.
Words can be a double edged sword. They can wound and they can heal.
If something needs to be resolved throughout this phase, my advice would be to have some time out, take a few deep breaths, and think before you share your thoughts.
Speak your truth for sure yet know that there are ways to get a message across that can benefit all.
On a more fun note, the Gemini FM can be a time of socialising and spending time with siblings and neighbours. Christmas drinks, street parties, and work functions are in full swing around this time. If you’re feeling up to it, get out there and mingle!
It may be just what you need to shake off any stagnant energy that you’re carrying.
The Sun moves into earth sign Capricorn on the 22nd of December, bringing stability and the drive to connect to our goals and dreams.
Capricorn has gone through a regenerative period after having Pluto as a guest since 2008.
This indicates that new possibilities are available to us on our own terms-not necessarily based on the traditions and ways of the past.
On the 30th/31st of December (depending on your world location), there will be a New Moon @ 9 degrees of Capricorn.
I love that this lunation takes place at the threshold of the end of one year and the beginning of another…because Capricorn encourages us to make a practical 12 month action plan that we can follow step by step to bring us closer to our goals.
Cappy is ambitious and wants us to succeed. So, my question to you is, what would you like to see birthed in your life? What are the foundations that you are building for the future, and how can you make sure they are strong enough to stand the test of time?
Saturn-the ruler of Capricorn-does not hand us our dreams on a silver platter. Yet if we are dedicated and work hard, we can pretty much achieve anything that we put our minds to.
