When a planet retrogrades there seems to be some kind of unfinished business that needs to be completed or resolved. All planets retrograde for their own specific purposes and time periods. For the personal planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) their retrograde is relatively short and has more of a revision or planning effect. There could be some kind of alteration needed that may have been neglected or overlooked when the planet was direct, so things are now being ‘pulled back’ to review, mull over or correct.

Any forward action on your behalf while these planets are retrograde is not advisable as it could feel a little like accelerating with the handbrake on… you really are not going to get very far. With that said these times are very conducive to writing and study with Mercury, re-evaluating relationships, money and artistic pursuits with Venus and planning you next mode of action with Mars.

The outer planets act very differently during their retrograde. The planets from Jupiter out to Pluto retrograde for much longer periods, almost half the year. This happens when their transit is in the opposing arc to the Sun. Their natural vibration works on a deeper level to the personal planets taking us down the road of change and evolution for the purpose of soul growth and expansion.

Saturn takes no prisoners. Its desire for self-mastery is unflinching and it gives you exactly what you put out if you play ‘victim’. This is why Saturn gets such a bad rap in Astrology, its vibrational tone is strong and unyielding and it knows that this is essentially who you are when you stop playing ‘the prey’ to life.

We hate being responsible for what happens in our lives. We love to point fingers, blame and be the victim to our unhappiness. It was my mother, my money, my religion, my government… it’s always someone else’s fault. Saturn makes us completely accountable for every action, thought and deed in our lives and gives us back exactly what we ‘give out’. If we are not going be the Boss of our own lives then something else will and you will always be at the mercy of this self-created authority that keeps you constrained, restricted and small.

Saturn is Scorpio is intense, only because the potential for profound transformation vibrates along a cliff edge. In Scorpio, Saturn takes us to our invincibility, a level of power that knows no fear of death, endings or transformative change. Many of us have already experienced this on some level during Saturn’s Scorpio transit from October 2012 to the end of last year, but now it has come back to finalise any matters left unresolved.

Natal planets witnin the final 3 degrees of any sign will feel this frequency, but it will be at it most powerful with planets or points in the final degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius.

You could feel pulled back into a situation you thought you had completed but now realise there is a bit more that needs to be finalised. It may not necessarily be an actual outward circumstance, but a part of you internal conditioning that now needs a final plunge into the rebirth pool.

Something is not going to be the same here and you will need to muster the courage to end this part of who you and begin anew. This is definitely a shift in personal power so look at it that way and move toward the change knowing that taking charge of your life depends on it.

This retrograde will not affect everyone on such an intense level but if you do have the Sun and Moon (in particular), or any personal planets in the last 3 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius you may hear a knock on the door (over the next 3 months) from a certain experience yet to be completed.

Always remember the planets won’t make you do anything. The choice is always in your hands. They will provide the wave for you to ride how you surf it is totally up to you
